Terms of Use
Human review required: This English translation is provided for convenience only. The French version at /cgu remains the authoritative version until this translation has been reviewed and validated.
By using Latence, you accept these terms. Please take the time to read them — they are short and written in plain language.
1. Overview
Latence is system optimisation software for Windows, published and distributed by Latence (hereinafter “we” or the “publisher”). The software is available through the latence.app website and distributed as a desktop application.
Using the software and the website implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms of Use.
2. User account
To access the software's features, you must create an account using an email address or a Google account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account in the event of a breach of these Terms of Use.
3. Subscription and payment
Latence is offered under three plans:
- Monthly — €9 / month, with no minimum commitment and cancellable at any time.
- Annual — €29 / year, automatically renewed each year.
- Lifetime — €49, one-time payment, with permanent access to all features.
Payments are processed by Stripe, a secure payment provider. We do not store any banking information. Prices include applicable taxes.
Any active subscription may be cancelled from the application's “Subscription” section or through the Stripe customer portal. No refund is due for periods that have already started.
4. Right of withdrawal
Under Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, provided that you have not started using the software.
To exercise this right, contact us through the support page with your order number.
5. Use of the software
Latence is a system optimisation tool. You use the software at your own risk. Although every change is reversible and a restore point is created before each change, we recommend that you:
- Read the description of each tweak before applying it.
- Do not use the software on critical production machines.
- Keep a recent backup of your important data.
You may not use Latence for illegal purposes, attempt to reverse-engineer the software, or share your licence with third parties.
6. Liability
The publisher shall not be liable for:
- Indirect damage resulting from use of the software.
- Data loss connected with a system change.
- Incompatibility with certain hardware or software configurations.
The publisher's liability is limited to the amount paid by the user for the service concerned.
7. Intellectual property
The Latence software, its interface, texts and code are the exclusive property of the publisher. Any reproduction, distribution or modification without written authorisation is strictly prohibited.
8. Personal data
We process the data required to operate the service: email address, Firebase identifier, subscription status, an anonymised hardware identifier, payment data received from Stripe and, when the creator programme is used, related attribution, clicks, sales, commissions and payout records.
Google Firebase hosts accounts and application data, while Stripe processes payments. PostHog is loaded for audience measurement only with your consent. These providers support delivery of the service; we do not sell your data.
Our first-party affiliate cookie retains the referring creator for 30 days, only after you consent. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the “Manage cookies” link in the site footer. Withdrawal removes the cookie without affecting attribution and accounting records already required for a completed sale.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and delete your data. Exercise these rights through the support page.
9. Changes to these Terms
The publisher reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time. Users will be notified by email in the event of a material change. Continuing to use the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the amended terms.
10. Contact and support

11. Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will try to reach an amicable solution. If no solution can be reached, the competent courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
